Meet Your Dog Trainer
Hello! I’m Nicole Narita, your Professional Dog Trainer in Huntington Beach.
At Where Dogs Thrive, I am passionate about helping you enjoy an amazing life with your best fur friend(s). After seeing many pet parents struggle with their dogs’ behavioral challenges, I thought, “What if I could help people before their puppies developed behavioral issues?” I founded this company to provide proactive, effective, fear-free puppy and dog training in Huntington Beach.
Starting early is key to minimizing future issues. However, even if you don’t have a puppy, at any age, your dog can learn the skills to improve their life and your partnership. I want you and your dog to stroll through the Farmers Market confidently, visit Dog Beach without worry, or enjoy brunch downtown relaxed at an outdoor cafe. Who doesn’t want a polite, well-mannered companion? My dream is, no matter what your dog’s age is, for you both to enjoy life wherever it takes you.
Let’s take the next step to your happiest life together!

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of dog training do you offer?
We're all about helping you and your pup enjoy life together! Our services include puppy socialization, dealing with puppy biting, potty and crate training, and basic obedience to support your favorite four-legged fur child. Our main focus is on teaching your best friend the skills they need to be a well-behaved family member!
Do you offer a guarantee with your training?
At Where Dogs Thrive, I don't offer a guarantee. And let me tell you why: every dog is unique and progresses at their own speed. Offering a guarantee would be unethical because it suggests I can promise certain results, regardless of individual factors that affect training success.
My mission is to help you build a strong bond with your pup by giving you the tools and knowledge you need. With patience, consistent practice, and understanding your dog's needs, we can make lasting progress together!
How long will it take to train my dog?
When it comes to dog training, there's no magic formula to predict how long it'll take. It all depends on your pup's natural smarts, their genes, your practice routine, and how supportive their home environment is. Plus, the type of training you choose (We Do It Homeschool or Coaching) and how much follow-up training you do can make a big difference. So, while we can't give you an exact timeline, we can promise to help you and your dog make progress together.
What dog training methods do you use?
Here at Where Dogs Thrive, we're all about using science-backed, positive reinforcement methods that are both fun and ethical. Basically, we reward your dog with stuff they love (like treats, toys, or praise) when they do something good, and this encourages them to keep doing it! So, in short, we believe in a 'no fear, just fun' approach to dog training.
Can you train my dog for me?
YES! We Do It - Homeschool allows us to do all of the heavy lifting for you! We come to your home, train your dog, and teach you how to maintain their new behaviors.
What equipment do I need?
We use a clicker, yummy treats, and a bait bag to hold your treats. We also recommend a 6 ft. leather, nylon or biothane leash, flat collar or harness.
We do not use flexi-leashes, choke chains, prong collars, or e-collars.
